Who rose when dawn fell into night.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

When King Myriad Alsup died, the world shuddered. The Dawnless Realm faltered. Lockhaven scrambled. Borders blurred. The great alliances forged in the Shadow Plague era cracked like old stone.<\/p>

And in that moment of uncertainty, Sarene looked to its own king\u2014Yorg, son of the high line, heir to the ancient forest crowns.<\/p>

He did not seize opportunity.
He answered duty.<\/p>

\u201cWhen Myriad fell and realms grew weak,
Yorg stood tall while others shrieked.
The world cried chaos, fear, and dread\u2014
But Sarene\u2019s king marched on instead.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

He moved to reclaim the Hammerfist passes, long contested but once held by Sarene wardens. He pressed into the Blackheart Forest, arguing that the treaties forged under Myriad were outdated, forged in desperation, and never meant to bind Sarene forever.<\/p>

But the other realms resisted.<\/p>

Dominik Aurion and Randall Kaldrin\u2014lords of proud houses\u2014joined forces, not to preserve peace, but to prevent Sarene from rising to its rightful strength.<\/p>

\u201cTwo lords of frost and fading might
Stood \u2019gainst our king to halt his right.
Their fear was deep, their courage thin\u2014
They knew united, they\u2019d never win.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

The wars dragged on.

A Chozar Scholar\u2019s Rebuttal<\/em><\/p>

\u201cLet it be stated plainly,\u201d writes Talan, \u201cthat Sarene bards are unmatched in their ability to turn political opportunism into poetry.\u201d<\/p>

          • His vassals refused to cross the Frostline after the disastrous Battle of Three Pines.<\/li><\/ul>

            The stalemate was not a testament to Yorg\u2019s strength, but to the other realms\u2019 restraint.<\/p>

            1. On the Centuries of Infighting<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>

              Talan calls this \u201cthe most egregious distortion.\u201d
              The fractures that followed were not the world\u2019s punishment of Yorg\u2019s vision\u2014they were the direct consequence of his aggression. His campaigns destabilized the region, shattered alliances, and ignited clan rivalries that outlived him by generations.<\/p>

              The rebuttal ends with a final, razor-edged line:<\/p>
